What is the Anime About?
With Vengeance, Sincerely, Your Broken Saintess follows the story of Rua, a saintess candidate with a rare healing ability. However, her power comes with a cost — she can only heal others by taking their injuries onto herself. Because of this painful power, Rua is bullied and called the "Fallen Saintess." Despite this, her best friend Arianne always protected her — or so she thought.
One day, Rua risks her life to save her crush, Commander Garrett, from a deadly beast attack. But when she wakes up, she finds out that Arianne took all the credit for the rescue. Heartbroken by her friend's betrayal, Rua feels lost. That’s when Prince Sarid appears, offering her a chance to start a new life as a villainess, turning her misfortune into a path of revenge and new beginnings.
The anime is directed by Chisaki at IMAGICA Infos / Imageworks Studio. Yūichi Imaizumi serves as the sound director, with Hiroki Nozaki and Airi Kobayashi managing the sound effects. The music is composed by onoken, and Kazuya Takahashi is overseeing production.
Originally launched in August 2022 in Japan and in English in October 2022 via Pocket Comics, the webtoon has gained a steady following. This adaptation will be part of Animation ID’s "light anime" lineup, known for simpler animation that allows for faster production, as seen in titles like Lockdown Zone: Level X and Moriarty's Perfect Crime.
