Wind Breaker Live-Action Drops New Trailer and Cast Reveals!
Exciting news for Wind Breaker fans! The live-action film adaptation of Satoru Nii’s popular delinquent manga has just dropped a brand-new trailer along with three more cast members. The movie is all set to premiere in Japan on December 5, 2025, and fans are already buzzing.
The latest cast members revealed are:
Rikako Yagi as Kotoha Tachibana
Kōki Yamashita as Chōji Tomiyama
Noritaka Hamao as Jō Togame
These three will join the already impressive lineup, which includes:
Kōshi Mizukami as Haruka Sakura (the main character)
Taisei Kido as Akihiko Nirei
Keito Tsuna as Hayato Suō
JUNON as Kyōtarō Sugishita
Motoki Nakazawa as Tōma Hiragi
Shūhei Uesugi as Hajime Umemiya
Filming took place earlier this year, between February and April, in Okinawa, Japan. To bring the story to life, the production team transformed a real shopping street into a giant set, customizing each shop to match the world of Wind Breaker.
The movie is being directed by Kentarō Hagiwara, known for his work on live-action Tokyo Ghoul and Blue Period. The screenplay is written by Yōsuke Masaike, a Japan Academy Prize-winning writer behind titles like Anime Supremacy! and A Girl & Her Guard Dog. Warner Bros. is in charge of distributing the film.
For those unfamiliar, Wind Breaker is a high-octane manga centered around Haruka Sakura, a student who transfers to Furin High—a school filled with strong delinquents who now protect their town. Haruka isn’t there to make friends—he’s only interested in fighting the strongest and becoming the top dog.
The manga, originally launched in 2021 on Kodansha’s Magazine Pocket app, is now available digitally and in print in English through Kodansha USA. New print volumes will be released monthly starting in July 2025.
Wind Breaker has also expanded beyond the page. Earlier this year, it received a stage play and a mobile/PC game called Wind Breaker: Heroic Tales of Delinquents, which launched in March.
With a solid cast, experienced staff, and passionate fanbase, the Wind Breaker live-action film is shaping up to be a must-watch for action and anime lovers alike.
