Undead Unluck 1-Hour Special Trailer Drops with New Director and Studio Reveal!
Big news for Undead Unluck fans! The official website for the anime just released a teaser trailer and key visual for an upcoming 1-hour special episode, and it comes with some major updates. The special will premiere in Winter 2025 and features a brand-new director and production studio.
What’s New?
The one-hour special will be directed by Sung Hoo Park, known for his work on Jujutsu Kaisen. He will also handle the storyboards, and the animation will be done at his own studio, E&H Production. This is a shift from Season 1, which was animated by David Production (JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure). While David Production isn’t leading the project this time, they are still involved in a supporting role.
The special episode will have a completely original story written by Undead Unluck’s manga creator Yoshifumi Tozuka himself. He also designed a brand-new UMA (Unidentified Mysterious Animal) creature just for this episode.
Returning Staff Members
Although the studio and director have changed, several familiar faces from the original anime are returning:
Yamato Haishima (Fire Force) is back as the screenwriter.
Hideyuki Morioka and Shun'ichi Ishimoto return for character design.
Kenichiro Suehiro (Re:ZERO) is once again in charge of the music.
Other key staff includes:
UMA Design: Kazuhiro Miwa
Art Director: Yann Le Gall
Prop Design: Setta
Color Design: Aiko Mizuno
3D Director: Tomohiko Kan
Editor: Kiyoshi Hirose
Sound Director: Jin Aketagawa
Interestingly, the new trailer and visuals were revealed on August 1, the same day in the story when the two main characters, Fuuko Izumo and Andy, first met.
