TV Anime Adaptation for “The Strongest Magician in the Demon Lord's Army” Manga Announced!
Happinet announced on Friday that the manga "Maō-gun Saikyō no Majutsushi wa Ningen Datta" (The Strongest Magician in the Demon Lord's Army was a Human), authored by Ryousuke Hata with original character designs by Kuma and art by Anajiro, is set to receive a television anime adaptation scheduled for release later this year.
Directed by Norihiko Nagahama at Studio A-Cat, the series boasts a talented team, with Touko Machida handling the series scripts, Masami Sueoka as the character designer, and KOHTA YAMAMOTO composing the music. The anime will specifically adapt the manga version of the original light novel series.
Plot and Trailer
The narrative revolves around Ike, renowned as "the strongest magician in the demon king's army," who single-handedly conquers fortresses with his immense magic. Despite striking fear into both allies and enemies alike, Ike harbors a secret he cannot share with his fellow demons – he's actually human.
The story takes an intriguing turn as Ike, while aiming for coexistence between demons and humans, grapples with the challenge of concealing his true identity as a human leader within the demon army.
Ryousuke Hata initiated the story on the Shōsetsuka ni Narō website in February 2016, with the latest update posted in November 2022. Futabasha published the fifth novel volume in April 2018. The manga adaptation by Anajiro started in 2019 on Futabasha's Gaugau Monster website, with the upcoming release of the 10th volume scheduled for January 30.
