Tsukimichi Moonlit Fantasy Anime Announces 3rd Season!

The anime series Tsukimichi Moonlit Fantasy based on Kei Azumi’s “alternate world social reform fantasy” novels has announced its third season. This news came right after the 25th and the final episode of Tsukimichi’s Moonlit Fantasy’s second season. Along with this exciting news, the anime's official website revealed a visual for the next season. 

Tsukimichi Moonlit Fantasy Storyline

Tsukimichi Moonlit Fantasy tells us the story of Makoto Misumi, a regular high school boy who suddenly gets summoned to another world to become a hero. But the goddess of the new world deems him unfit and strips him of his hero title. Makoto discovers his extraordinary magical abilities and combat skills despite this rough start. 

As he makes his way through the new world, Makoto comes across non-human creatures like dragons, spiders, orcs, and even dwarves. Determined to make the best of his situation, Makoto strives to improve this other world despite being rejected by both humans and gods. 

Tsukimichi Moonlit Fantasy History and Production

The second season of the anime premiered on January 8th, 2024 on Tokyo MX and BS NTV. Crunchyroll has been streaming the anime as it airs even in an English dub. The season was directed by Shinji Ishihira who’s known for his remarkable work on Fairy Tail and Log Horizon. Kenta Ihara was responsible for the series composition. Yukie Suzuki returned as the character designer, and Yasuharu Takanashi, also the composer of Fairy Tail music produced Tsukimichi Moonlit Fantasy’s soundtracks. 

The first season of Tsukimichi -Moonlit Fantasy- aired in July 2021 and consisted of 12 episodes. It was the inaugural project for NTV's newly established Anime Department at that time.

The Tsukimichi novels began on the Shōsetsuka ni Narō website in 2012, and AlphaPolis later published them in print, featuring illustrations by Mitsuaki Matsumoto. The series has been quite successful, with 1.4 million copies in circulation. In addition to the novels, a manga adaptation by Kotora Kino started serialization in 2016.
