Toilet-Bound Hanako-kun Season 2 Confirmed for July 6 Release

Fans of Toilet-Bound Hanako-kun are in for a treat! The official X (formerly Twitter) account for the anime has announced that the sequel to the second season will begin airing on July 6, 2025. It will premiere on TBS and its affiliate channels, and episodes will air every Sunday at 4:30 p.m. JST.

This sequel is a continuation of the second season, which originally premiered earlier this year on January 12. The season was streamed on Crunchyroll as it aired in Japan, and the platform also provided an English dubbed version for international fans.

In terms of production, the second season brought some changes and familiar faces. Yōhei Fukui, who directed episode 10 of the first season, took over as the main director, replacing Masaomi Andō from season one. The script was once again handled by Yasuhiro Nakanishi, while Mayuka Itou returned as the character designer.

The season also introduced new music. The opening theme, titled "L'oN," was performed by Masayoshi Ōishi, known for his energetic and catchy anime songs. The ending theme, "With a Wish," was performed by Akari Kitō, who also voices the main character Nene Yashiro in the anime.

The announcement of this sequel continues the "restart" of the anime project, which was first revealed back in December 2022. At that time, the official website had teased fans with a message saying the Toilet-Bound Hanako-kun anime was being "restarted," which led to much speculation and excitement.

For those who are new to the series, Toilet-Bound Hanako-kun is based on the manga by Iro Aida. It follows Nene Yashiro, a high school girl who meets Hanako-kun, a ghost who haunts a school bathroom and grants wishes—for a price. The series combines supernatural mystery, comedy, and heartfelt moments, making it a unique favorite among anime fans.

The first season aired in January 2020, running for 12 episodes. It was streamed by Funimation at the time with both English subtitles and an English dub.
