The Fable Manga Returns for Final Arc
Katsuhisa Minami's The Fable teases it's final arc as the manga artist takes a deserved break from writing
Kodansha's Weekly Young Magazine's 32nd issue has hinted that Katsuhisa Minami's manga, The Fable, is entering its final story arc. However, a specific return date has yet to be announced. Minami mentioned the need for a break to recharge before continuing work on the manga. Recently, the magazine published the concluding chapter of Minami's The Fable: The Second Contact manga. The eighth volume of The Fable manga is scheduled for release on August 4th, followed by the ninth and final volume on November 6th.
Minami launched the sequel manga, The Fable: The Second Contact, in July 2021, serving as the second part of the overall manga franchise. Furthermore, the magazine's latest issue announced an upcoming anime adaptation of the original The Fable manga.
The original The Fable manga, created by Minami, debuted in Kodansha's Weekly Young Magazine in November 2014 and concluded in November 2019, spanning 22 volumes. It received the Best General Manga award at the 41st annual Kodansha Awards in 2017. The magazine also revealed that The Fable manga series has exceeded 22 million copies in circulation.
Kodansha USA Publishing is responsible for publishing the English version of the original manga, which is described as follows:
"When you're the infamous 'genius killer' hitman known as The Fable, many tasks come naturally. However, leading an ordinary life proves to be a challenging endeavor for him. In fact, being prohibited from killing anyone for a while might just be the most difficult job he's ever taken on..."
The success of the original manga inspired two live-action films, which premiered in Japan in June 2019 and June 2021, respectively.
