The Creator of Lycoris Recoil Reveals a new Upcoming Manga!
"Double Helix Blossom" Manga Launches: Asaura and Gomeyuki Nishima's Near-Future Adventure
In a thrilling collaboration between the original creator of "Lycoris Recoil," Asaura, and artist Gomeyuki Nishima, a new manga titled "Double Helix Blossom" has emerged, setting the stage for an action-packed narrative. Published in Shogakukan's Weekly Coro Coro Comic magazine, the manga takes root in a near-future world, promising readers an engaging tale fueled by futuristic elements and unexpected alliances.
Plot
The storyline unfolds with the awakening of police officer Kiku Shinonome, who emerges from cryogenic stasis after a 60-year slumber, undertaken to preserve her from a potentially fatal injury. Now thrust into a world radically transformed during her hiatus, Kiku must navigate this unfamiliar terrain. To add complexity to her journey, she finds herself partnered with Kyo Tsukisagari, a seasoned criminal armed with psychic powers. Together, this unlikely duo tackles paranormal incidents, showcasing a dynamic interplay of personalities that adds an extra layer of intrigue to the narrative.
What sets "Double Helix Blossom" apart is its dual existence beyond the pages of the manga. The creative minds behind the series, Masato Uesugi and Noriaki Watanabe, renowned for their work on the board game "Kaiju on the Earth: Vulcanus," are gearing up to launch an accompanying board game for the series. SWAV, the artistic talent behind "Tsui no Stella," contributes illustrations to the game, creating a seamless connection between the manga and the board game.
The synergy between manga and board game is not unfamiliar territory for Uesugi and Watanabe, as their previous collaboration, "Kaiju on the Earth: Vulcanus," inspired a manga adaptation by Hirō Nakamichi titled "After School Dice Club," debuting on Shogakukan's Sunday Webry website on December 24.
The upcoming manga introduces readers to a world where futuristic elements meet paranormal mysteries, offering a unique blend of sci-fi and supernatural elements. The captivating narrative, coupled with the compelling character dynamics between Kiku and Kyo, sets the stage for an immersive reading experience.
The success of "Lycoris Recoil" has paved the way for Asaura's latest venture, "Double Helix Blossom," promising fans a fresh perspective on dynamic collaborations against the backdrop of a transformed world.
