New Promo for Nina the Starry Bride Unveils Stellar Cast Additions and Mesmerizing Previews!
The Nina the Starry Bride anime, based on Rikachi's popular manga, recently released its second promotional video, giving fans an exciting look at what's to come. Along with the video, the official website announced two new cast members: Mitsuki Saiga will voice the character Hikami, and Masumi Tazawa will voice Anne.
Production and Streaming Details
The anime, which brings a captivating fantasy story to life, premiered in Japan on October 10 on TOKYO MX and a day later on BS Asahi. Japanese streaming service ABEMA is also airing the series, while Crunchyroll has picked it up for international streaming, including an English dub for global fans.
The show is directed by Kenichirō Komaya, known for his work on Kizuna no Allele, with Signal.MD handling the animation. The script and series composition are by Yuka Yamada, who has written for Saint Cecilia and Pastor Lawrence. Character designs are crafted by Kyoko Taketani, who also worked on Yuuna and the Haunted Hot Springs.
Meanwhile, the music, composed by Natsumi Tabuchi (famous for My Next Life as a Villainess: All Routes Lead to Doom!), sets a fitting tone for this magical and emotional journey. The theme songs are also a highlight, with Maaya Sakamoto performing the opening track "Nina" and Nao Tōyama singing the ending theme, "Hoshi no Dengon" (Messages From the Stars).
Plot Overview
Nina the Starry Bride follows the journey of Nina, a young girl who has had a tough life, including a period when she was forced to steal to survive. Her life takes a surprising turn when her own brother sells her into slavery, but her new captor, Prince Azure, decides to give her a different fate. He orders Nina to live as the replacement for the recently deceased princess-priestess, Alisha. Although she’s placed in a role of luxury and respect, Nina finds it hard to leave her old life behind, and her resilience and wit challenge Prince Azure in unexpected ways. As they get closer, Nina faces a dilemma: she starts developing feelings for Azure, even though she knows her future marriage has already been arranged with someone else.
The original manga series has been running since October 2019 in Be Love magazine and has gained significant popularity, winning the Best Shōjo Manga award at the 46th annual Manga Awards. Kodansha USA publishes the series digitally in English, with the sixth volume recently released in print.
