Netflix's One Piece Star Hints at Season 2 Release Date!
Netflix's One Piece has been making waves recently, especially with all the excitement around its upcoming season two. During Geeked Week, fans got a special treat as the live-action adaptation took center stage. The series has already started production on its second season back in July, and actor Jeff Ward, who plays Buggy the Clown, gave fans an inside look at what's coming next. He even dropped a big hint about when season two might be released.
Netflix One Piece Season 2 Release
In a recent video, Ward takes fans on a tour of the One Piece set, showing off some cool easter eggs and giving a sneak peek at Drum Island, a key location in the upcoming season. But the most exciting part of the video came at the end when Ward teased the release date for season two. He starts to say, "I'll see you all in 20--," but Netflix decided to bleep out the year he mentioned. However, if you're good at reading lips, you might catch that Ward was saying "2025."
While the exact year wasn’t officially revealed, Ward's facial expressions seem to make it clear that 2025 is when fans can expect the next season. This isn’t too surprising, as reports have been hinting at a 2025 release for some time now. Season one of the live-action One Piece was released in late 2023, and the production team had been filming in South Africa throughout 2022. Considering how long it took for season one to go from filming to release, a 2025 launch for season two seems to make sense.
So, what can fans expect from season two of One Piece? The live-action adaptation has a lot to cover. Series creator Eiichiro Oda has already given some clues about what’s coming. Season two will dive into the Loguetown and Drum Island arcs, two important parts of the story. While the Alabasta saga won’t fully kick off in this season, we will meet some major characters from that arc, like Vivi, Nico Robin, and Tony Tony Chopper.
As for the casting, some new actors have been announced for these key roles. Lera Abova, a Russian actress, will play Nico Robin, while Joe Manganiello will take on the role of Crocodile. Charithra Chandran has been cast as Vivi. The actors for Chopper and his design are still under wraps, but we do know that Katey Sagal will play Kureha, and Mark Harelik will portray Dr. Hiruluk.
With all these exciting developments, it looks like season two of One Piece is shaping up to be something special. Fans will just have to wait until 2025 to see how it all unfolds.
