My Dress-Up Darling Season 2 Set for Summer Debut on July 5!
The second season of My Dress-Up Darling (also known as Sono Bisque Doll wa Koi wo Suru) will officially premiere on July 5, 2025, at 24:00 JST (technically July 6) on Japanese TV channels including Tokyo MX, BS11, Tochigi TV, and Gunma TV. The anime’s official website shared the news on Tuesday, along with a brand-new visual and a new commercial to get fans hyped.
Even better, Crunchyroll will stream the new season as it airs, making it easy for international viewers to keep up with Marin and Gojo’s latest adventures.
A Quick Recap
My Dress-Up Darling first aired in January 2022 with a 12-episode anime that became an instant hit. The show follows Wakana Gojo, a shy high schooler who dreams of becoming a traditional doll maker, and Marin Kitagawa, a confident and outgoing girl who loves cosplay. When Marin discovers Gojo’s sewing skills, she pulls him into the world of cosplay creation—and the two form a sweet, heartfelt bond.
Funimation previously streamed the first season, along with an English dub, and Crunchyroll currently offers both the sub and dub versions on its platform.
A Growing Franchise
The anime is based on the manga by Shinichi Fukuda, which has also grown in popularity. The manga launched in 2018 in Young Gangan magazine and entered a new “Tenmei” arc in 2023. Though the main story officially ended in March 2025, fans can still look forward to a bonus chapter and an epilogue.
Square Enix publishes the manga in Japan, and Square Enix Manga & Books releases the English versions. Volume 15 of the Japanese edition will be out on July 25, while Volume 14 in English hits shelves on October 21.
There’s even a live-action drama based on the series, which aired in Japan in October 2024, proving just how beloved this series has become.
Whether you're here for the romance, the cosplay, or just more Marin energy, Season 2 of My Dress-Up Darling is shaping up to be one of summer’s most anticipated anime releases. Don’t miss it when it hits screens on July 5!
