My Dress-Up Darling Season 2 Drops Main Trailer and Introduces New Cast!
Exciting news for My Dress-Up Darling fans! The official website has dropped the main trailer, a new visual, and announced two new cast members for the upcoming second season of the beloved cosplay romance anime.
New Trailer and Visual Released
The promotional video shows off what fans can expect in Season 2, along with a preview of the theme songs. The opening theme is titled "Ao to Kirameki" by Spira Spica, while the ending theme is "Kawaii Kaiwai" by PiKi.
A brand-new visual featuring Marin and Wakana has also been released, giving fans a fresh look at the next chapter of their adorable journey.
Meet the New Characters
Two new characters are joining the cast this season:
Ayumu Murase will voice Amane Himeno
Shōhei Komatsu will voice Shiki Kashiwagi
Their roles in the story haven’t been fully revealed yet, but their addition hints at new challenges, and maybe new friendships or rivals—for our cosplay-loving duo.
Season 2 Premiere Date
Season 2 premieres on July 5 at 24:00 JST (which is technically midnight on July 6) on Tokyo MX, BS11, Tochigi TV, and Gunma TV. For international fans, Crunchyroll will stream the anime as it airs.
About the Manga and Franchise
My Dress-Up Darling, created by Shinichi Fukuda, started as a manga in Square Enix's Young Gangan magazine back in 2018. It follows Wakana Gojō, a shy high schooler who dreams of becoming a hina doll artisan. After a fateful encounter with the outgoing and beautiful Marin Kitagawa, his quiet life changes forever as the two bond over her passion for cosplay.
The original anime debuted in January 2022 with 12 episodes and became an instant hit. The manga also inspired a live-action drama, which aired in October 2024 in Japan.
The manga’s main story concluded in March 2025, but it will have a bonus and epilogue chapter coming soon. Volume 15 of the Japanese version releases on July 25, while the English release of Volume 14 will follow on October 21.
