KONOSUBA Season 3 OVA: A New Adventure in Production!

KONOSUBA fans are in for a treat! During a special program streamed by KADOKAWA on September 15, 2024, it was announced that an OVA (Original Video Animation) for KONOSUBA -God's blessing on this wonderful world! Season 3 is "earnestly" in production.

The third season of this fan-favorite series, which aired from April to June earlier this year, saw Kazuma and his quirky group of adventurers returning for more hilarious misadventures. While no release date or plot details for the OVA have been confirmed yet, excitement is building as fans eagerly await more news.

The third season continued to follow the light novels by Natsume Akatsuki and Kurone Mishima, and the creative team behind it remained mostly unchanged. Directed by Yujiro Abe, with series composition by Makoto Uezu and character design by Koichi Kikuta, the season was produced at Studio Drive, which also worked on the hit anime VLAD LOVE. Takaomi Kanasaki, the series director, played a key role in maintaining the show's trademark blend of humor, fantasy, and absurdity.

KONOSUBA Overview

For those new to the series, KONOSUBA begins with the misadventures of Kazuma Sato, a young man who, after dying in a traffic accident, is given the chance to be reincarnated in a fantasy world. However, in true KONOSUBA fashion, nothing goes according to plan. When offered the chance to bring one item with him to this new world, Kazuma cheekily decides to bring the goddess, Aqua, herself.

Little does he know that Aqua's powers are more of a nuisance than a blessing, and their new life becomes a chaotic whirlwind of bizarre quests, eccentric party members, and constant mishaps. Aqua is joined by Megumin, an explosion-obsessed mage, and Darkness, a masochistic crusader, rounding out Kazuma's dysfunctional team.

With the demon king still posing a threat and Aqua’s persistent need to tackle the world’s problems, Kazuma only wants a peaceful life, but that's far from what he gets. The OVA is expected to continue the comedic chaos and ridiculous situations that have made the series a hit.
