Golden Kamuy Sets Date for its Final Arc!

The staff of the Golden Kamuy anime has officially revealed exciting news for fans. The final arc of the anime will begin airing in January 2026 on Tokyo MX and other Japanese channels. This marks the beginning of the anime’s grand conclusion, wrapping up the story based on Satoru Noda’s popular manga.

Two New Prologue Films Coming in October

Before the final arc starts, two special prologue anime films will be released in Japanese theaters. These films are titled:

Golden Kamuy: Sapporo Beer Factory Arc (Golden Kamuy: Sapporo Beer Kōjō-hen).

Release Dates: October 10 and October 31, 2025.

The teaser trailer for these films also features the theme song “Kogane no Kanata” (Beyond the Gold) by Awich × ALI, with a sneak peek of its instrumental version.

Plot of the Prologue Films

In these films, the main characters, Sugimoto, Asirpa, and Shiraishi—head to Sapporo to continue the search for hidden gold. There, they track a dangerous escaped prisoner named Keiji Ueji.

Meanwhile, the 7th Division and Hijikata’s group are hunting another criminal involved in the murder of several women.

All groups eventually cross paths at a Sapporo beer factory, planning to trap the killer. But things quickly spiral into chaos as all sides clash, making the story full of suspense and action.

The music is also a highlight. ALI, who did the season 4 opening, teams up with Awich, known for Shangri-La Frontier, to create the prologue’s theme song.

A special Blu-ray bundle with a spinoff anime titled "Tokushirō Tsurumi’s Aspiration" will release in October. It includes two short anime episodes—“The Lightning Thief and Viper Ogin” and “Shimaenaga”—with a total runtime of about 30 minutes.

Golden Kamuy first aired in 2018, and has become a fan-favorite for its mix of history, action, and survival. The manga ended in 2022, and is available in English from Viz Media.
