Type-Moon has officially announced that the manga adaptation of the action RPG Fate/Samurai Remnant will begin serialization on July 28, 2025. Alongside this announcement, a brand-new illustration was revealed, giving fans a first look at the visual style of the upcoming manga.
The adaptation will be illustrated by Mugetsu, a manga artist known for dynamic action scenes and expressive characters. The manga was first announced back in August 2024, and fans have been eagerly awaiting more details ever since.
Manga Launch & Extra Details
The manga will make its debut in the 17th volume of Type-Moon Ace, a magazine dedicated to all things Type-Moon. That issue will be released on the same day—July 28—and will include additional information about the project. Fans can expect behind-the-scenes insights, interviews, and possibly even story teasers in the magazine.
What Is Fate/Samurai Remnant?
Originally released as an action RPG developed by Omega Force and published by Koei Tecmo, Fate/Samurai Remnant offers a fresh take on the Fate franchise. The game introduces a unique setting during the Edo period in Japan, blending samurai drama with the franchise’s signature magic and mythology.
The story revolves around a deadly competition called the Waxing Moon Ritual, a battle between seven Masters who summon powerful Servants—heroic spirits from history and legend—to fight alongside them. The winner of the Ritual is granted a wish of unimaginable power.
Just like in previous Fate titles, the story is rich with lore, high-stakes battles, and emotionally driven characters. The manga adaptation is expected to follow the same core narrative, while possibly offering additional scenes, new perspectives, or even original content not featured in the game.
For Game Fans
Fate/Samurai Remnant is already available on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Nintendo Switch, and PC via Steam. Several DLC story expansions—known as "Record Fragments" have been released, adding new storylines and characters to the main game.
With the manga launching soon, it’s a great time to dive into the Fate/Samurai Remnant world, whether you’re a longtime Fate fan or new to the series.
