Demon Lord 2099 Anime: October Premiere and Theme Song Revealed!
The highly anticipated anime adaptation of Daigo Murasaki and Kureta’s Demon Lord 2099 (Maou 2099) light novel series is set to premiere this October, as announced during the Aniplex x Kadokawa Anime Matsuri livestream on Friday. The event revealed key details about the anime's debut, including the opening and ending theme songs, as well as a striking new visual.
Theme Song and Production Team
The anime will feature Shiyui performing the opening theme song, "Hollow," while the ending theme, "Spira," will be sung by Sekai. The visual unveiled gives a glimpse of the anime's atmospheric setting and character designs, promising a visually captivating adaptation.
Ryo Ando is known for his work as an episode director on 86 and series director for Double Decker! Doug & Kirill will direct the anime at J.C. Staff. Yūichirō Momose, who has written scripts for So I'm a Spider, So What? and The Witch and the Beast, will handle both the series composition and scriptwriting. Character design will be managed by Ryousuke Tanigawa, chief animation director for One Punch Man (Season 2), with Jin Aketagawa serving as the sound director and Tatsuya Katō composing the music.
The anime boasts a talented voice cast, with Satoshi Hino lending his voice to the Demon Lord Veltol and Miku Itō portraying Machina. Other notable cast members include Daisuke Namikawa as the legendary hero Graham, Masaya Matsukaze as demon lord Marcus, Shizuka Itō as Marcus' secretary Kinohara, and Hana Hishikawa as Takahashi.

In addition to the anime, Kiiro Akashiro is drawing a manga adaptation of the novels, which is being serialized on Kadokawa's Shōnen Ace+ website. Yen Press is also set to release the English translation of the light novels, making the story accessible to a wider audience.
