For fans in North America, a special early screening titled "DAN DA DAN: EVIL EYE" — which includes the first three episodes — will hit theaters on June 6, thanks to GKIDS. The same premiere will screen in Asia (outside Japan) on May 30, and in Europe on June 7.
Season 2 is once again being animated by Science SARU, known for their creative and fast-paced animation style. Most of the voice cast will return, with Mutsumi Tamura joining as the voice of a new character, Evil Eye (Jashi).
A Quick Recap of the Plot
DAN DA DAN follows high school students Momo, a girl from a family of spirit mediums, and Okarun, a boy obsessed with the occult. The two clash over whether ghosts or aliens are real—so they each go on a spooky adventure to prove their beliefs. What they find instead are terrifying and powerful supernatural beings. Momo awakens psychic powers, and Okarun gains strength from a curse. The story blends romantic comedy, paranormal battles, and teenage drama into one wild ride.
Created by Yukinobu Tatsu, the manga is published digitally on Shonen Jump+ and is available in English from Viz Media and MANGA Plus. The anime's first season aired in late 2023 and had 12 episodes. It was praised for its unique mix of comedy, romance, and action—and the Season 2 trailer promises even more high-stakes fun.
