Chopper Joins the Crew! One Piece Season 2 Live-Action Drops in 2026!
Netflix has officially revealed that One Piece Season 2 of the live-action series is set to debut in 2026. The announcement was made during Netflix's Tudum fan event, where fans got a first look at Tony Tony Chopper, the beloved talking reindeer doctor from the original manga and anime.
The video revealed both Chopper’s look and voice. In the English version, Mikaela Hoover will voice Chopper and also provide the facial expressions for the CGI character. Fans were excited to finally see the Straw Hat crew’s newest addition in live-action form.
Netflix also shared that the One Piece series has already been watched by 100 million fans worldwide, showing just how successful the first season has been. Season 2 wrapped up filming earlier this year, after production began in July 2023.
Series creator Eiichiro Oda confirmed that Season 2 will follow the story up through the Drum Island arc, where Chopper officially joins Luffy’s crew. That means fans can look forward to seeing important locations like Loguetown, Reverse Mountain, Whiskey Peak, Little Garden, and Drum Island brought to life.
Season 2 will also feature new characters and cast members. Some of the big names joining include:
Callum Kerr as Smoker
Julia Rehwald as Tashigi
Rigo Sanchez as Dragon
Joe Manganiello as Mr. 0 (Crocodile)
Charithra Chandran as Miss Wednesday (Nefertari Vivi)
Lera Abova as Miss All Sunday (Nico Robin)
And many more!
The creative team for Season 2 also includes new co-showrunner and writer Joe Tracz, known for Percy Jackson and the Olympians. He joins Matt Owens, who worked on Season 1. Owens later announced that he would be stepping away after finishing Season 2 to focus on his mental health. Season 1 co-showrunner Steve Maeda will continue as executive producer.
The first season of One Piece premiered in August 2023 with eight episodes. It won awards at the Children’s & Family Emmy Awards, including Best Original Song and Best Stunt Coordination.
With new characters, an even bigger story, and fan-favorite Chopper coming aboard, Season 2 is shaping up to be another grand adventure!
