Bocchi The Rock! Reveals The Release Date of Its Compilation Films
A really exciting news for fans of Bocchi the Rock as the official Twitter account for the anime revealed the titles for the upcoming compilation films! The first film will be called “Bocchi the Rock! Re” which will hit the Japanese theaters in spring 2024. Following the second compilation film named “Bocchi the Rock Re:Re” which will release in the summer of 2024.

For those of you who are unfamiliar with the story of Bocchi the Rock! Well, it’s based on Aki Hamaji’s four-panel manga and revolves around Hitori Bocchi, an introverted high schooler who has a passion for playing the guitar. Her routine consists of strumming away in solitude until she crosses paths with Nijika Ijichi, who’s one of the guitarists of her group called “Kessoku Band”. After an encounter with Nijika, Hitori’s life takes a 360 turn and changes for good!
The series features the musical talents of the “Kessoku Band” with Ikumi Hasegawa, who voices Ikuyo Kita, taking the lead vocals. They performed both the opening and ending songs. The opening track “Seishun Complex” (Youth Complex) had lyrics by singer-songwriter Ai Higuchi, and the music was composed by -otoha-, a member of the group 48foureight. Meanwhile, the ending song titled “Distortion!!” had lyrics and music by Maguro Taniguchi, the vocalist and popular guitarist of the band “KANA-BOON”.
The anime with its catchy tunes and heartwarming storyline, quickly captured the audience’s attention. The manga, serialized in Houbunsha’s Manga Time Kirara Max magazine since December 2017, continues to engage the readers with its ongoing narrative.
