This season will consist of 14 episodes and will start airing on October 5. Season 2 Cast - Everything You Need to Know
The new season will introduce new cast members: Eiji Mikami as Yo Hiori, Kakeru Hatano as Nijiro Nanase, Satoshi Hino as Oliver Aiku, and Akihisa Wakayama as Shūto Sendō. The opening theme song, “Bōjaku no Charisma”, will be performed by Unison Square Garden.
The first season of "BLUELOCK" aired in October 2022 and consisted of 24 episodes. It was broadcast on TV Asahi's NUMAnimation block and streamed by Crunchyroll. This season’s success was followed by a film adaptation of the "BLUELOCK -Episode Nagi-" spinoff manga, which premiered in Japan on April 19. The film performed well at the box office, selling 337,000 tickets and earning around 463 million yen (about $2.99 million) in its opening weekend. It also debuted in North America on June 28.
The film, along with the original manga, which started in August 2018, follows a unique storyline where, after Japan’s defeat in the 2018 World Cup, the Japan Football Union aims to create a striker who can lead them to victory. They gather 300 of Japan’s top youth players in a competition to find this ultimate striker.
The original "BLUELOCK" manga, written by Muneyuki Kaneshiro and illustrated by Yūsuke Nomura, has received critical acclaim, winning the Best Shōnen Manga award at Kodansha's 45th annual Manga Awards in 2021. Kodansha USA Publishing is releasing both the digital and print versions of the manga in English. The series continues to capture fans' imaginations with its intense soccer action and character-driven drama.
