Blue Exorcist's NEW Beyond the Snow Saga Reveals Main Trailer and Character Video

Aniplex has officially unveiled the main trailer for Blue Exorcist: Beyond the Snow Saga (Ao no Exorcist: Yuki no Hate-hen) during the Aniplex Online Fest stream on Monday. The trailer offers fans a glimpse into the much-anticipated continuation of the Blue Exorcist series.

The main trailer comes with English subtitles, allowing international fans to get a closer look at what the new season will offer. In addition to the trailer, Aniplex previously released a promotional video focused on Mephisto Pheles, voiced by Hiroshi Kamiya.

The anime sees the return of familiar voice talents, with Nobuhiko Okamoto as Rin Okumura and Jun Fukuyama as Yukio Okumura leading the cast. Other notable cast members include:

The anime is set to premiere on October 5 across Tokyo MX, BS11, Gunma TV, and Tochigi TV at 24:30 JST (October 6 at 12:30 a.m. JST). For streaming fans, the show will also be available on U-NEXT, Hulu, d Anime Store, and Anime Hōdai starting on October 6 at 1:00 a.m. JST.

Behind the Scenes: Returning Staff and New Music

The staff from previous Blue Exorcist projects are back for this new installment, including Daisuke Yoshida as the director and Toshiya Ono handling the series scripts. The music is composed by Kohta Yamamoto and Hiroyuki Sawano, with the opening theme song "Re Rescue" by Reol, and the ending theme "Tsurara" by Yobahi.

Two Cours Planned

Blue Exorcist: Beyond the Snow Saga will air its first part starting in October, followed by the second cour titled Blue Exorcist: The Blue Night Saga in January 2025. Crunchyroll will stream the series as it airs.

This new anime season is a direct sequel to the Blue Exorcist: Shimane Illuminati Saga, which premiered earlier in January 2024. Both the original and the sequel were streamed by Crunchyroll and also feature an English dub.

Manga Hiatus and Health Update

On a related note, Blue Exorcist manga creator Kazue Katō recently announced a hiatus due to health reasons. The manga, which started in Jump SQ in 2009 and has sold over 25 million copies, will pause while Katō undergoes treatment and recovery.

Plot Overview

The Blue Exorcist manga follows Rin Okumura, a boy raised by an exorcist, who discovers that he is the son of Satan. Determined to fight his fate, Rin joins True Cross Academy to become an exorcist while hiding his demonic heritage.
