Anime fans have something exciting to look forward to! A brand-new Alice in Wonderland anime movie is set to premiere on August 29, 2025. The film is being produced by P.A. Works, a popular animation studio known for its beautiful visuals, and it's directed by Toshiya Shinohara, who also worked on Nagi-Asu: A Lull in the Sea.
Alice in Wonderland Trailer Explained
The official trailer for the movie has just been released, and it’s already capturing attention. The trailer shows off stunning animation, mixing classic hand-drawn styles with modern CGI. The film aims to bring Lewis Carroll’s classic story to life in a fresh and creative way.
This version of Alice in Wonderland isn’t a direct copy of the original story. Instead, it follows a new character named Rise, a university student living in today’s world. One day, she receives a strange invitation from her grandmother—and suddenly, she’s transported to the mysterious world of Wonderland.
In Wonderland, Rise meets classic characters like Alice, the Cheshire Cat, and the Queen of Hearts. As she journeys through the magical world, she uncovers secrets, faces challenges, and learns more about herself.
Director Shinohara explained, “We wanted to create a Wonderland that feels both nostalgic and new. It’s a tribute to Carroll’s original world, but with surprises that will speak to today’s audience.”
The anime movie features a talented voice cast. Nanoka Hara will voice the lead character Rise, while Maika Pugh will play Alice, and Mayu Matsuoka will voice the Queen of Hearts.
To top it all off, the movie will include a special theme song by SEKAI NO OWARI, a well-known Japanese music group. Their music adds an emotional and magical feeling to the film’s tone.
With a strong team, fresh storytelling, and gorgeous visuals, this upcoming anime promises to be a magical reimagining of a story loved by generations. Whether you’re a longtime fan of Alice in Wonderland or new to the tale, this anime movie is one to watch when it releases in August 2025.
